Eyelash Growth Treatments. Chicago Cosmetic Institute

It usually isn’t something you would associate with a Cosmetic Institute, right? Yes, we know it is a bit unusual, but our medical spa provides treatments to help your eyelashes grow out longer and stronger for a variety of reasons. It is one of the newest treatments in aesthetics.

Our Chicago eyelash growth treatments are helping people grow their natural lashes out, feeling sexy and beautiful every day, without all that messy makeup.

What is an eyelash growth treatment?

Eyelash growth treatments aim to lengthen, thicken, and darken sparse or spotty lashes.

We all know about eyelash extensions, but why not just extend your natural lashes instead? That’s what we aim to do with our eyelash growth treatments at CCI.

We use Latisse. It is a federally approved topical treatment that stimulates the natural growth of your eyelashes. If you have light or spotty lashes, Latisse was made for you. It is applied directly to the base of the eyelash once a day.

How well does it work?

According to an FDA study, eyelashes grew about 25 percent longer, 106 percent thicker, and darker by about 18 percent.

How long until you’ll see results?

It can take a while for results to appear. Most users report results starting to appear in 4-8 weeks. Noticeable results will start to appear from 12-16 weeks after you begin treatment.

How much does it cost?

At this point, there are two different sizes of Latisse bottles (3ml or 5ml). Suggested retail for physicians is $179 for a 5ml bottle and $120 for a 3ml bottle. There could be additional costs associated with the consultations and follow up visits.

All of these prices vary depending on the doctor you use. This is just a rough estimate of what it will cost you.

A single bottle of Latisse comes with 60 medicated eyeliner brushes. You are meant to use 2 per day (one for each eye). After use, you dispose of the brush.

The bottle will last you about one month, depending on the month. About 30 days total.

If you choose to use only one brush per day (one for both eyes) the bottle will last you twice as long.

After a few months of treatment, you may be able to use it less and maintain your results.

Eyelash Treatment with Latisse

Latisse is a prescription treatment for insufficient or thin eyelashes. It helps the eyelashes grow longer, thicker, and darker.

Originally, Latisse was a treatment for glaucoma under the name Lumigan. After patients started noticing their eyelashes growing and thickening, Allergan did more studies and had the treatment FDA approved as an eyelash growth stimulation treatment.

Believe it or not, this is how many new medical spa treatments are discovered.

Latisse is the only FDA approved treatment or medication for the growth of eyelashes.

Though it is something you can do at home, you need to first consult with a doctor and have it prescribed. There are allergies and potential dangers of using Latisse that you need to discuss with your doctor to see if it’s a good fit for you.
