Our very own Dr. Gutowski, a board-certified plastic surgeon, was interviewed for CI Living back in 2016. Since our website here is relatively new, we thought we would help you get to know our doctors better by bringing this little interview to your attention.
In this video, Dr. Gutowski goes over non-surgical cosmetic treatments for the face like cheek fillers and we even get to watch him work with a patient live on video.
More about cheek fillers
One thing the doctor, as well as the rest of Chicago Cosmetic Institute, are very proud of is our wide selection of non-surgical treatments. These include injections, botox, & laser services for skin tightening.
As people age, they lose a bit of fullness in the cheeks. If you see a little bit of hollowness in the cheeks below the cheekbone, it can sometimes make you look gaunt or a little bit older.
Types of fillers used for the face
There are a lot of options out there for doctors and aestheticians who use dermal fillers. They all have their own benefits and drawbacks.
In this video, Dr. Gutowski uses a product called Bellafill. It is classified as a filler but it’s really a collagen stimulator. Stimulators help your body to make collagen. It is a natural process that begins to slow down as we age, causing the appearance issues that we correct with these injections.
A benefit of this fillers is that it lasts a long time. Most dermal fillers will last 6, 9, maybe 12 months tops. If you want to continue seeing results, you have to visit your cosmetic surgeon after this period of time. Effects of Bellafill can last you up to 5 years. That is a heck of a lot longer than most of the other fillers out there. That means you don’t have to keep coming back. You do it once and won’t have to come in until your results have fully disappeared.
Sitting with your doctor for a consultation
Every patient is different. That’s why we have a consultation with each and every one. The first thing we do is pull medical records to make sure you will be a good fit for the procedure you seek. Not everyone is a good candidate for cosmetic procedures. We will look over any kind of medical issues that you have, making sure it is safe for you to have treatments performed.
Comprehensive facial analysis
The procedure you want is not always the only one you need. Sometimes it is not the one you need at all. A complete analysis of your face will help doctors to make recommendations on what you need. Board certified plastic surgeons are trained to look at the whole face and address issues accordingly.
You don’t want to just fix one thing if it will make other things not look right. In some cases, it would be better not to have anything done at all.
We look at lines in the face, fillers, & loose skin. There is a whole range of options that will be discussed and then recommendations will be made by your doctor.
We have done posts on cheek fillers in the past. If you would like to learn more, you can check them out for a fuller explanation of all of the different aspects.
