Improving “looks,” as well as vision.
People struggle all their lives with heavy, drooping eyelids – worrying that it effects their appearance and the way other people think of them and interact. Sometimes sagging skin develops around the eyes later in life.
Regardless of when it starts, Blepharoplasty can fix the puffiness, bags, and heavy folds present in the eye area with minimally invasive techniques.
What is Blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is a facial rejuvenation procedure aimed at eliminating puffiness and droopiness of the eyes, leaving you with a refreshed and youthful appearance. Upper and lower eyelif blepharoplasty can treat excess skin and orbital fat.
Your examination prior to any surgery in the eye area will start with brow position, eyelids ptosis, lower eyelid position and projection of the cheeks.
Some other names for blepharoplasty include cosmetic eyelid surgery, fat excision, and fat repositioning procedures.
Cosmetic eye surgery not only improves the appearance of the eyes, but range of vision due to droopy or puffy eyelids. Patients often see more clearly after surgery, though it is generally known as a cosmetic procedure.
What is the process?
Every preoperative evaluation for blepharoplasty should document your medical and ophthalmologic history. This can include anything from chronic systemic diseases to the medications you take and more questions based on your history.
Any kind of prescriptions you haveFor vision correctionWill also be collected by your doctor to be analyzed. If you have had corneal refractory surgery,You should generally not have cosmetic surgery of the Perry orbital region.
A complete eye examination will take place.Evaluation will also take into account your skin quality and The quantity of excess skin around the eyes.
Anesthesia is administered first. Once the patient is under anesthesia, our plastic surgeons make a small incision either in the lash line or in the natural crease of the upper eyelid.
Depending on the treatment plan that works best for you, fatty deposits can be repositioned, muscles can be tightened, and the excess skin around the eye is removed. Incisions made are closed quickly and heal naturally with the aid of sutures.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
The upper eyelids will be injected with a numbing agent so that you do not feel anything that goes on during the procedure. Skin incisions are made with a surgical blade.
fat excision is often part of the procedure when working on the upper eyelid, as excess fat can build up quickly above the eye, causing the skin to droop into visual range.
Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty addresses common concerns like eyelid bags, under eye circles, wrinkles around the eye, or the eyes looking tired all the time.
There are more options for lower eyelid rejuvenation procedure. You can choose from fillers, blepharoplasty, and/or laser skin resurfacing.
Surgeons like ours at CCI have a customized approach to surgery of the eyelids where your specific problems will be addressed the the least invasive ways necessary. Lower eyelid issues can sometimes be corrected without the need for incision.
Blepharoplasty Recovery Process
After an operation, patients should keep ice packs on the area for about three days. This will minimize risks like swelling and infection of the area. Sutures are sometimes used and non-absorbable ones can be removed after about a week in most cases.
